How to properly wear and remove hard contact lenses
Insertion Guide
1. Always wash your hands.
Before touching your lenses, thoroughly wash your hands with Optact’s special formula contact lens hand soap.
2. Rinse your lenses.
Take your lens out of its case after it has soaked in Optact’s total care solution. Place the convex curve of the lens between the index finger and middle finger and rub the lens with the pad of your thumb. At the same time, run filtered water or a saline solution over the lens. There will be a “squeaky clean” feeling when the lens is fully rinsed.
3. Lubricate your lenses.
Apply a drop of artificial tears into the lens’s concave curve and apply your lens.
4. Rinse your contact case.
Use Optact’s total care solution to clean the inner and outer surfaces of your case. Then rinse the case thoroughly with filtered water and let it air dry until the next use. This prevents bacteria from building up in the case.
Removal Guide
1. Wash your hands.
Always wash your hands before touching your lens. Thoroughly wash your hands with Optact’s special formula contact lens hand soap.
2. Lubricate your eyes.
Put a few drops of artificial tears in your eyes and blink rapidly. This is to help break up the seal between your cornea and the lens. Use the plunger or a mirror to confirm that the lens is now able to slide on the cornea.
3. Remove your lenses.
Apply your plunger to the outer ring of your lens (not dead-center), gently move your lens back and forth to ensure the seal is broken, and then gently remove your lens.
4. Soak your lenses.
Put your removed lens into your contact case and add Optact’s contact lens solution until the lens is completely submerged. Close the case securely and store until next use.
