The Optact Naturalens is a daily wear scleral lens made of hexafocon A, a high molecular polymer that is synthesized with fluorine silicon acrylic and is used in the manufacture of RGP lenses. The lens is a wettable, non-hydrophilic, gas-permeable, rigid, scleral lens with no surface treatments and contains UV absorbers.
Applications
The Optact Naturalens Scleral Lens is a daily wearable lens suitable for patients over 20 years of age with no limit on the degree of myopia. These lenses are not to be used in eyes that have active eyelid infections such as conjunctivitis. Rather, these lenses are designed to correct refractive errors caused by irregular corneal diseases such as:
Performance
The base curve of the lens does not touch the cornea or the Limbus, rather the lens is seated on the sclera. This fit provides an unobtrusive, smooth surface that allows comfort for the irregular cornea while also helping light to focus on the retina.
